Welcome to 402270
We are a local eco-friendly product store that creates beautiful aprons out of old tablecloths. Our mission is to reduce waste and promote sustainability by repurposing materials that would otherwise go to waste. Our aprons are not only environmentally friendly, but also stylish and practical. We believe that sustainable living can be both easy and fashionable, and we hope to inspire our customers to make small changes that can have a big impact.

Why Sustainable?
200 years. That’s how long it takes for discarded clothing to decompose in the landfill. 20, that’s how many gallons the average washing machine uses per load.
Unsustainable, a word most of us are familiar with.
Inspired by the first Earth Day, April 22,1970, 42270 was created to give people a way to have a positive impact on our environment in a very simple way. By repurposing tablecloths and making them into aprons less textiles end up in the landfill. In addition, wearing an apron helps keep your clothes clean, resulting in fewer loads of laundry therefore conserving resources like water, electricity, natural gas and detergent.
The first Earth Day experienced widespread support across all demographics. Major changes occurred in the immediate aftermath. Within just a few years the Clean Water Act, the Clean Air Act and the Endangered Species Act were passed and the EPA and NOAA were created.
Much has been accomplished, but much remains to be done. A million mile journey begins with a single step.
42270 helps you take that first step in helping protect our children’s, children’s’ children’s future.
Meet the Creator
At 42270, sustainability and quality are at the heart of everything we do. Meet Karen Gashi, the creator behind these sustainable handmade aprons. As a retired mother of five and grandmother of eleven, Karen’s inspiration comes from a desire to make the planet a better place for her beloved grandkids. With a passion for quality craftsmanship and eco-friendly materials, Karen's aprons are both beautiful and practical.
